Truth and lies
Let me try to reframe the fundamental lie we have told ourselves.
The lie: sex equals making love
All of the lies we tell ourselves stems from this one. It is nothing but the witless interpretation by a race that knows better. We remain witless and lying because of this single lie. We have accepted an animal's witless existence with open arms.
The truth: fully shared sexual pleasure equals making love. Fully shared sexual pleasure makes love.
Put most simply, we are not human until coitus is a human act.
