"The Traveler's tale"

 The Traveler's tale

Towards the mountains' rugged peaks, I passed through ache and toil

At the very peak of mount, I felt a mystic foil

No intent to let me pass; repelled, my will to roam

But, then, a pause, a sudden feel, a friend whose welcomed home

I wandered, then, throughout this land, this land I'll never leave

The path one takes, extend your hand, and never disbelieve

The way was set so long ago, the only need, depart

There is a kernel all good tales deliver to the heart

The steps to take to gain the land on heart and soul are marked

They're scored upon the ways of life, let go and you've embarked

The path is such we all can feel, so deep within's the spark

Conscious thought distorts the path, the rhythm of the hark

This tale is told of brighter things than those of daily dread

The passion of the soul is as the leaven for the bread

Written long ago.  I just needed something to boost my spirits.  The previous poem upset me because I did what I swore I would never do.  Leave a poem on a down note.

This is kinda freaky after looking at it in retrospect.  This was written, at the latest, around when I was first tracking down The Nail.  It preceded the long, weary, fifteen year road.

The Garden Of Eden

Our Garden Of Eden is still ahead of us.  You can't really believe that we frolicked with lions and tigers many millennia ago when we were little better than an animal, can you?  We were nothing more than another animal at the time this was concocted and it wasn't even a rational myth.  That would be Pandora's Box.  That was a myth that sought answers and warned us of the possible misstep that we stepped right into with myths like The Garden of Eden.  If you are looking for more of an explanation, that would be in a couple of the earliest books.

Once we truly become human is when we will learn to love, maintain an emotional balance, think rationally, and fulfill our sentience.  For all intents and purposes, it will be a Garden Of Eden, as long as you don't expect utopia.  If you expect an existence of which humanity can finally be proud, then you are thinking in the right direction.

If you are looking for our demise that would be the mindless approach to life that we currently sustain.
